Spaghetti Sauce
Ingredients:
1-26 ½ oz can spaghetti sauce (any brand)
2-15 oz cans tomato sauce
2- small cans tomato paste
1 med onion cut up
2 Tbsp chopped garlic
1 Tbsp chopped basil
1 Tbsp chopped oregano
2 TBSP Olive oil
1 Tsp Italian Seasoning
1 TBSP Garlic Powder
1/2 Tsp Black pepper
1/4 Tsp Cinnamon
1 Pound of beef, pork or you may use Meatballs
Instructions:
1. In a large pot add olive oil to bottom of pan add chopped garlic, basil, oregano and cut up onion. Cook till well blended.
2. Add all cans of tomato sauce and paste. Fill empty cans with water (each can) and add to sauce.
3. Add seasonings (except the cinnamon) Bring to a boil then lower to a simmer
4. Stir occasionally to keep sauce from sticking or burning.
5. Half way through cooking time add ground meat and a teaspoon of cinnamon.
6. Stir let cook about 30 min.
7. Add the meat if your sauce is too thick, add about a cup of water before you let it simmer.
8. Simmer till the grease from the meat is on top (I usually remove some of the grease from the top) Turn off about 30 min before serving and let it rest so to speak.
Note:
Serve on top of Angel Hair, spaghetti, rigatoni or any type pasta you desire.Top with grated parmesan with garlic bread on the side.
